Support for federal funding of renewable energy sources is at an all-time low since 2006. The Washington Post-Pew Research Center recently took a poll, which shows an increase in Republicans opposing initiatives for future funding.

This not only causes concerns for individuals around the globe but also for the government. This is going to make the government more unfavorable in many peoples’ eyes. With so much talk about helping the environment and being ‘Green’, this may be a large divider among political parties. How do you think this is going to affect upcoming elections, if at all?

Personally, I’m all for trying to understand both sides. I can’t help it; even if my initial reaction is to be completely against something, I’m always trying to understand what it would be like to be in the other persons’ shoes. What really confuses me about this whole situation is the fact that there is always so much talk about making things easier, and treating the environment better for future generations and such. Then, to turn around and hear about this; is confusing. That seems very contradictory in my opinion.

How do you feel about renewable energy? Do you think it should be a high priority or maybe something that should be on the back burner for the time being?
